Always in motion

I've never kept a canvas unfinished for so long
I'm going on a year with this painting
I have faith it will come together
at some point
Just may not be in 2012
I had friends out yesterday and we decided to make little houses out of paper clay
Of course I had no idea they would need a day or two to dry
So everyone is meeting back here in 2 weeks to paint and decorate their creation

I'm spending my day working on my swirl commission

Have a great week

My first gallery showing with Lewis Rice

Here I am at The Phantom Gallery

Lewis (gallery owner) Me and two really great people, Joey and Larry

 So many people came out!
 Old friends~New friends
 Joey & Jane
Makes me smile to see all that came

We even had some girls show up, crutches and all

 So much conversation and laughter
Me trying once again to take a photo with my camera
with another artist in the show, Paula
Had a great time meeting and chatting with Sherwin
Hannah always keeping the crowd entertained
Opps...another one of those shots

What a great evening!
The time spent with the crowd that came
was priceless

Now back to my commissioned swirl piece

Two days before my first gallery showing

On very short notice I was given the chance to show at a local art gallery
They requested my paper bag paintings
Since I only had one left, I went to making a new paperbag tree

This is the 3rd I've done and each time seems like I learned something new.
 Here is the finished piece

If you are in or near Chicago this Saturday between 7 & 11pm
Come on over to 4161 N. Damen in Chicago

What I found while cleaning a corner in the art room

 This painting is called
Joker in the middle
Left side is James, Zacks father
Middle is Zack
Right side is Mike, Zack's Pops
What I love about this painting, from 2006
is that it really does look like all 3 of them
Zack had gotten in huge trouble in 2006
My issues with skin tone made me fall in a brief love affair with this style
Below is one I did of Mike & I when we were having our own issues with each other
 Heres the corner

Did I say cleaned?
I meant tidied

Some of my favorites along that wall

The area where everything that can be hung on a hook, hangs
messy messy
maybe too many wine bottles over in the corner
Hey I'm making progress!
Coco napping with Chunk on guard

The progress of my swirl commission
I just love it!

Paint Mojo Texas style 2012

Last weekend at Paint Mojo

Me ... little unknown Lisa D. sitting on the floor painting with the absolute fabulous Tracy Vertigo
Most loveliness of ladies
Dont know why I have my eyes shut in all these flippen photos!

 There were 20 of us

As much as Granny was uncertain about attending her first ever art retreat
I believe she may have enjoyed herself as much as I did
This is my 30x30 that I brought home
Not sure what to do next if anything at all

Before I left for the weekend, Hannah had scratched herself a bit too much (ocd) in between her eyes
when I got off the plane on Monday I saw that it had gotten much worse
When she went to school the next day, the nurse called me with the news of this wound becoming impetigo and I needed to take her to the doctor.
Poor Hannah
We also are having a large shed built in our back yard, which my studio faces.
So many men, including my father in law (who is having this built) and his brother and Mike and even Zack walked through a few times.
I've had to go get Hannah from school a few times.
and its cold outside!

One last shot of me with those happy eyes
