Flowers in the house & the garden

This will be our 10th summer here in the burbs of Chicago.
Both Mike & I were born and raised in the city and when we found out that the city schools wouldn't be good for Hannah, we decided to move to were there was a good special ed program for her and here we are. In the city we always had these itty bitty yards, here in Prospect Heights we have almost a full acre of land and we love it!

A few paintings I finished

Hope you all are staying cool

Flowers everywhere

Here is a peonies from one of the flower beds. This smells as good as it looks.
When I look at these purple flowers I can see why some of my flowers look the way that they do.

I had painted this on a much larger canvas a few months back, a friend came by the other day and asked about where it went : )
Well I painted over it. So I decided to make another and give it to her.

This canvas was first covered in paint using wax paper and then just letting my hand create what it wanted.
3ft X 4ft

Having children in my house throughout the day has definitely cut into my art time, but I am what I would call at times...an art junkie...so I know I'll get my fix...even if its at 3 am

Gifts for some great people

Here is some of the art I've been making for the staff at Hannah's school. All but one are on BINGO cards : ) I painted 4 canvases for the 4 staff members we have had the most dealings with : ) Good dealings : ) I know this school will be missed.

Here is a lil Frida doll I received in an art swap.
Her she is against one of my latest Zinnias
Here she sits among other art dolls and paintings
The back garden is just alive with lush flowers
