The feminine tree painting

Just an update on my "Bride" tree

Its funny how even in a tree painting I can see the events that take place in my life We had my sisters wedding, my friend Ling had to have a hysterectomy, being a mother to a thirteen year old who is filling out in every which way and just being a woman.

Its a very feminine tree to me. I think the butterflies represent my son going off to college.

I still need to figure out what I'm doing with the solidness of the trunk.

I almost forgot...I decided I would do a give away this week...keep your eyes out : )

The trunk of this tree started feeling like is was taking up too much solid space...so I thought maybe an extension would be good...but now I can't decide which side I like it on : )

A free weekend

I found myself with a free weekend and decided to do big art : ) my favorite kind The above painting is a portion of a 3 X 2 ft canvas that I'm doing for a friend. She wants it done so that it will hang horizontal and gosh darn it...I want to paint it vertical!
This painting is 3 X 4 ft

When I was feeling stuck on the dragon fly painting Mike suggested I paint something for myself. So I did.

I'll keep you posted on my progress

Between vacations and my sisters wedding August was a very hectic month!

Now that school has started back for us my days can go back to "normal" I haven't had any time to create much and will put some pics up as soon as I have something new for you to see. For now enjoy a few photos of the past weekend
