WoW three comments! : ) Iam back from seeing my Zackery boy... I think I'll leave this up a few more days and see if others want to leave a comment. Thank you thank you. Lisa D.
As Gaugain said to Vincent Van Gogh, (very loosely translated) "Vincent you own sunflowers" I think of this sentiment each time I see one of your sunflowers. Just when did you first find inspiration in this flower; was it when you had each of us, your friends and family, do an interpretation of of one of Vincent Van Gogh's sunflower paintings? We came together in your home to share our intrepretations and each was so very different. I love that everyone sees and interprets so individually. It was a wonderful exercise, I chose crayolas as a medium because that was all I had available to me at the time. Oddly, I found that medium comforting in a time of extreme discomfort, the smell of the crayolas brought back memories of very early years and simple creations. I was challenged as a much older person to use this medium to satisfactorily express my image of this beautiful painting. I felt somewhat rewarded in my efforts and escaped the very painful circumstances I was living at the time. Thank you for throwing out that challenge. Now you own trees.
This painting seems to describe so many of us women, or maybe capture each of us in some way. Strong, incredibly beautiful, with hints of wildness and a bit to the left!
popped over from Altered Artists blog. The paintings you do are so awesome. I love the boldness of them. I would be so thrilled to win something like this.
