Day one at house of freedom

The kids arrived today! YaY! If I sit back and think about it...I think how lucky Cal & Char & Lisa & Mike & Zack & Hannah & PeJoe & Lady Cat & Mr. Cooper & Chunk and Little Coco Chanel West are! we all seem to fall right into place while together :  )  I've always loved these children right from the start, but now near a year since their Dads death, I know them being able to be with us as often as they are is a true gift. Even if they had just arrived 45 mins ago and Cal has already reached his curse word limit for the day!
The girls & I went to the Jewel and spent $180. on junk food! We came home to sit and chat play some online games figure out how we can all skyp together when they go back home. Cal went for a bike ride

I joined him and we rode to our playground
Then Hannah wanted to go for a ride too

Hannah on the phone with Granny, who will be driving home from Atlanta early tomorrow morning
and our much loved char char binx
Cal waiting for smores to start

Custer Fair is the day after the kids leave
so now only small stuff can get produced
3 tamborines
 A small 8X10
I'll do my best to keep a daily log of our events!

Thanks for always checking in!

I'm back with an update

Here it is in the sunlight

the white petals still need color
the yellow background needs a tint of some sort
and the most important part being the center needs some sort of something
not sure yet & am hoping it will come after the petals and the background is done.
Here it is in the shade
this painting is my tribute to the Custer Street Fair that I will be selling at June 16 & 17
These last 3 paintings are the ones I sent in to be accepted as a seller in the fair

I think they give a good idea of what my art is.
I hope to be 100% finished by Friday on my Custer painting
I'd say I'm about 60% through now
 Cya Friday

The progress I've made so far! Still so much more to go.
A smaller canvas

My newest Jackson Pollock book arrived today
More pictures in this one, which I needed. I haven't seen much of Pollocks work
I'm after his wild abandonment approach
Off for a girls get together

A day in my life

While I was waiting for my Jackson Pollock book to arrive I started reading this

Then today! My Jackson Pollock book arrived!
 All 775 pages of it!
Once I start reading it, Mike may come home and find me looking like this
I think Little Ms. Coco thinks I'm her mother and wants to be sitting in my chair always!
Here is a photo of todays progress on my flower painting for the Custer Street Fair
Many petals to go!
We'll see what happens tomorrow

May is here already!

The house has been a bit turned upside down these last few weeks and I'm sure it will be another few weeks before we have settled some and then summer travelers will soon be arriving I'm sure.
I have 5 more weeks before my first summer fair!
Every day by 8 am, I am in here ready to paint, unfortunately, I'm not always ready to paint.

This is a way crazy background
Usual daily garb...overalls and my scarf
My Mr. Pe Joe is starting to grey around his eyes...old man Joe we've been calling him
Another angle from the art room

Mike finished painting the dining room...bye bye yellow stripes!
Love when my tools look like this
I finally finished the painting on the left and it is now hanging in the dining room for a few weeks
 The boys napping
I decided to put a huge flower on this crazy canvas
I'll be back at it in the morning
